When the temperatures drop, we are often asked by concerned family and friends if we are warm enough in our travel trailer. People are especially concerned if we are warm enough at night. The answer is always yes!
We actually have several ways to stay warm which is very important in case we run out of propane or lose electricity. Fortunately, we have more than one backup. The best thing about heating a camper in the winter is the warm floors when using the propane.
While we have camped in the Northern States in the winter, we have never camped for an extended period of time so the ways we stay warm while wintering in the South, may help but they may not be all you have to do to stay warm when camping further North.
For us, we find that it’s easier to heat our RV in the winter months than it is to keep it cool in the summer if something goes wrong with the power or our air conditioning.
So whether you are a snowbird or on vacation in the South when a cold front comes in, there are ways to stay comfortable in the winter in your RV.
